If you struggle to get out of bed every morning, then feel groggy and low on energy all morning, you’re far from alone. One in eight UK adults feel tired all the time, according to a 2022 YouGov poll, while an earlier study found that people feel most tired throughout the morning.

“There are times when it’s normal to feel tired when you wake up, but if you consistently feel tired in the morning you should start investigating,” says Karina Antram, a nutritionist and the author of Fix Your Fatigue. “There are several reasons why this could be, from stress to poor sleep, a nutrient-poor diet or a lack of movement.”
