David Warner signed off from his Test career by scoring his 37th half-century to help Australia beat Pakistan by eight wickets and win the series 3 -0.

The 37-year-old drew the curtain on his 112-Test career at his home ground in Sydney, leaving for one final time in the whites to a standing ovation having got his side to within 11 runs of victory. But Warner could not be in the middle for the winning moment after being dismissed by the spinner Sajid Khan having hit seven boundaries in his swashbuckling innings of 57 from 75 balls.

Earlier Pakistan had been bowled out for just 115 leaving Australia with a modest chase of 130 to take the series and give Warner a fairytale farewell. It
