UK weather: Temperatures to stay low after snow showers

Britain is set to plunge to lows of -9C this week as the first flurries of snow fell across southern England yesterday.

A yellow warning for ice is in place across southern England and south Wales from 3pm on Monday to 3am today.
Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to -9C in the Scottish Highlands and -6C in rural Wales, while daytime temperatures today are not expected to exceed 6C in the south and 8C in the north.
The Met Office warned that southern parts of the country should expect “ice and small amounts of snow”.
