The Golden Globes returned with Barbenheimer, Taylor Swift and an opening monologue that may go down as one of the worst in awards show history.
Jo Koy, the comedian on hosting duties for the evening, ensured an inauspicious start to awards season with a series of jokes that left the A-list audience groaning.
At one point, he went off-script and said he had only taken the job ten days ago. Koy blamed his writers for the state of the material — perhaps not a wise move just months after Hollywood’s writers returned from a damaging strike.
The awards themselves celebrated some of the year’s best films and television shows, with Oppenheimer and Succession the biggest winners. Barbie, meanwhile, underwhelmed and failed to capture any
