Haribo has £20,000 debt to swallow after failure of Wiggle

Haribo was left with a sour taste in its mouth after Wiggle collapsed into administration last autumn.

According to FRP Advisory, the online bike retailer owed more than £26.7 million to unsecured creditors, including £20,000 to the maker of chewy sweets.

Wiggle, which would include a bag of the confectionery in all its orders, also left several milk suppliers high and dry and owed money to Asics, On Running and Under Armour, the clothing retailers.

It is understood the company has continued to trade in administration. The administrators’ report said there may be sufficient funds available to make a distribution to unsecured creditors, subject to the final outcome of the sales process.
