As we embark on a new gardening year there’s plenty to look forward to, so here’s my potted guide to a green-fingered 2024: from upcoming book releases and new gardens to visit to eco-friendly products and ways your garden can help science.
Raby Castle in Co Durham will unveil its remodelled five-acre walled garden in May as part of the estate’s ambitious redevelopment programme, known as the Rising. The historic 18th-century walled garden has been reimagined by Luciano Giubbilei, a renowned designer, alongside Lady Barnard. The design will celebrate the garden’s existing features, including the famous sculptural yew hedges, while incorporating romantic planting and new elements such as a grass amphitheatre (raby.co.uk).
