Manchester City have become the first team in FA Cup history to play 34 consecutive FA Cup matches without a draw (excluding qualifying rounds). Two clubs had recorded runs of 33 without a draw: Sheffield Wednesday up to February 1896 and Colchester United up to November 2019. City’s sequence began in 2017 with a fifth-round replay in which they scored five goals at home to Huddersfield Town — and they broke the record on Sunday by scoring five at home to the same opponents. City have won 29 and lost the other five of those 34 games — and none of the past 31 of those even featured extra time.

It was the 15th time City have scored four or more goals in an FA
