The largest professional body for psychotherapists in the UK has apologised for censoring research on Jewish trauma after being accused of bowing to “mob rule”.

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) admitted its senior leadership team made the “wrong decision” to pull an article from its magazine about how Jews in the UK were coping in the wake of the October 7 massacre in Israel.

It was removed from the quarterly publication at the last minute over fears about the “sensitivities relating to the topic” and the possible “ramifications” of running it.
