Russia hits eastern Ukraine with missile strikes
A hotel, restaurants and homes in Ukraine came under attack by Russia over the weekend after missile strikes by both sides intensified over the weekend.
Air raid alerts were issued across the country after dozens were injured in the eastern region of Kharkiv in a Russian missile attack, following the deaths of 24 people in a suspected Ukrainian attack on the Russian border city of Belgorod earlier on Saturday.
The Ukrainian Air Force said it had shot down 21 of 49 explosive drones launched overnight, but those that got through hit civilian buildings including a hotel frequently used by foreign journalists. A British national working for a German television company was among the 26 people injured.
Russia’s defence ministry claimed to have targeted “decision-making centres
