Monday January 20, 2020 (Ask the Theologian) from Ask The Theologian by Dr. Randy White. Released: 2020. Track 1,043. Genre: Speech.

  1. Yesterday we sang Reckless Love in our service and then it goes on to talk about how the pastor then referenced God’s reckless love. I’ve tried to research in the Bible any terms that would reference God’s love as reckless without care or consequences and couldn’t find any. I take concern in calling God’s love reckless. I think God knows his love has no consequences just unconditional greatness and healing. Am I reading too much into it or do you think this is something that we should take into consideration when speaking of God’s love?
  2. What are your thoughts on John Bunyan’s theology, especially Pilgrims Progress?
  3. Do you think there’s any significance that cherubim were used to keep Adam and Eve out of the garden and later they were placed on the mercy seat?
  4. Dr White provides more commentary on Reckless Love and Pilgrim’s Progress based on comments from the chat room.
  5. Can you comment on Numbers 13:33 (Sons of Anak)
  6. Comparing Deuteronomy 33:2 with Acts 7:53 and Gal 3:19, along with Jude 14 and 15, it seems that angels can be referred to as Saints.
  7. Dr White provides commentary on: preacher planned services of the past to worship leaders now planning services.
  8. I notice you make use of other translations. What’s your opinion concerning the King James Version?
  9. What are your thoughts on James Koon’s social justice theology?
  10. Do you think that Paul was describing believers or unbelievers in 2 Tim 4:3-4 when he talked about departing with itching ears?
  11. I’ve heard said before that God is at work in the world today. Is it accurate to say this?
  12. In 1 Peter does Babylon mean Babylon, or Rome Babylon mean Babylon?
